Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the eastern with the wild west in a wonderful game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the dealer, unlike most other poker games that gamblers bet against other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, starting players do not need to fret about any other, more skillful people taking their money.

Another Pai Gow advantage is the fairly leisurely game play, novices are able to take their time and plan without having to make quick selections.

It’s also easier to participate in for a long time with just a small amount of money since, to not win, both of your hands needs to be lower than each of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards faces showing and the dealer is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.

One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the casino’s.
