Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the closing table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest players around the world. While competing in web poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amount. I think television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players anywhere in the world might be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
