Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the house rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer broadcasting "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players are given 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must either make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning wager, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the bet comes the face off. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus a sum equal to the initial bet. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays money even with your original bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
